This lift was actually relocated as well as refurbished for the 2015 season

Spring 2014 – Last year of operation in old location

This lift was located to the lookers left of the current location, with the loading terminal roughly located where the double conveyors are located now. In fact, the upper lift line is somewhat skiiable if there is enough snowfall, though not marked on trail maps

Summer 2015 – Lift is completely missing from old and new location. Presumably sent to Skytrac for retrofitting and refurbishment

Spring 2017 – Lift is in new location

During the refurbishment, the chairs were given extra bracing around where the “taco” on a more modern chair lift would be. That is in contrast to Mohawk, that has clear rewelding in that spot and no extra bracing.

There used to be another lift in the new alignment (AV was nuts back in the day). I believe the hardware was from Lift 10, and moved to the alignment of Lift 11 in the below picture, which was presumably one of the many Hall Doubles this place used to have. There was at least a 15 year gap for that lift line not having a lift, as the most recent Google Earth aerial from 2000 shows that the 2015 alignment is vacant

In the 2014 imagery you can see some clearings to the left of the valley view double (now snowdrift). Those clearings look like there used to be trails at one point. Like some people thought, the 1964 St.Lawrence doubles served the terrain. There are also some things in the woods that appeared to be metal structures and they could be left overs from the doubles.

Next time I will ski there (maybe next week) I will try to go and explore the woods.

I actually skied that on Saturday! Snowdrift actually used to be one of those abandoned trails that they un-abandoned with the First Chair refurb in the mid 2010s. The one just to the lookers left is quite skiable still with enough snow. The one past that, the one with the large opening in the trees just kind of dead ends though. I was there at night however so I didn’t see any remnants of defunct lifts, though both the disc golf and mountain biking trails go back there so maybe it is something that could be explored better in the summer, or at least during the day
