Sugarbush will replace this lift next, the question is what they replace it with. Super Bravo has a ton of hours on it and breaks down quite often, thus resulting them to not run it at full speed. Gate House has very long lines and might be replaced by a six-pack. The question is if they relocate Gate House or Super Bravo to replace Heaven’s Gate or if they build a ground-up Doppelmayr UNI-G detachable quad.
Think relocating gate house or super bravo for a six pack would be cool. Though refurbishments are likely needed. I also hope they extend this lift down to the bottom of castle rock.
I found an old plan from the early 80’s once to do just that, and widen Domino, but keep Downspout narrow. It would require a new lift line though, and would have ended up hill from Castlerock. No space for the lift in that little valley.

On Peter’s news roundup it appears this lift will indeed be getting replaced, but not in 2023. Wonder if they will keep it for something else?

This lift broke down today due to a faulty brake, causing clicking noises around the bull wheel. Was down from 9:30 until 1:00.

Sugarbush is such a nice place to ski but lift infrastructure is outdated and inadequate. Hope plans for upgrades go quickly time wise.

This is the last lift at Sugarbush with the old school number plates on the towerheads, and soon they’ll be no more. It’s a cool touch.
(They were also on Valley house and Village):
