Hellroaring #8 – Whitefish, MT

This lift was completely relocated within the same basin in 2021 to start and end higher.
The middle part of the line is very steep while the beginning and end are mellow.
View down the line.
Skytrac did the relocation and added bars to the chairs.
Two of the 18 towers are new from Skytrac.
View up the steep part of the line.
The first few towers.
Tower 3.
Lower station overview.
Loading area.
Skytrac also converted the lift to hydraulic tensioning.
T1.
View riding up.
View back down the line.
The last carrier is a special ambulance chair for toboggans.
Unloading area.
The first of two Skytrac tower heads.

I wonder what is up with the need for a slight descent into the upper terminal. I think it’s got to do with that last tower being integrated into the drive. Incidentally, it was a regular support tower in the old alignment:

Agreed. Definitely nothing to do with whether or not the sheave assembly is part of the terminal- one can engineer whatever configuration one needs in this case.
