In this article, there are indeed photos of the lift they received from Aspen Highlands. Considering the age of this article, I wonder if that lift will ever be installed at this point, especially considering the low budget, not always financially stable history Hesperus has.
Hopefully they’ve moved the parts of that used lift to storage. In the article it looked like it was sitting outside like a heap of junk!

Hesperus really could use some updating. Thought it would happen once it was purchased but seems they are putting all their moneys into Purgatory and Arizona Snowbowl.
Mountain Capital puts money in Nordic Valley, and it’s also a small ski hill at a low elevation. Hesperus doesn’t have any room to expand that’s at a higher elevation. It doesn’t have the population base either. Nordic Valley, despite being the smallest ski area in the Ogden area, caters to beginners. Hesperus with a rope tow and a center pole double isn’t quite the same for beginners.
From the Google Earth street view, the Stadeli tow didn’t have the haul rope on. I don’t know when the picture was taken though. The chair is still in a pile, but some of the chair bails are missing and the seats are nowhere to be found, possibly in some sort of storage. It looks to me like Hesperus is using this lift for parts to keep their old Riblet running.
There is a tow at Hesperus but there is no rope, and it has not been used recently. It’s now in an area that’s been taken over by a sledding hill, but sledders have to walk up the slope.

I’d like to see an actual lodge built, parking lot, tube tow, new chair, maybe snowmaking/ snowmaking pond if possible.

A skytrac triple could be a good replacement for the existing double.

According to skilifts.org, there is a Stadeli rope tow here too. Of course, skilifts.org is very old information. Is the tow no longer there?
