Old 6 did have a good few ghost stops and there were some carriers that were, shall we say, uncomfortable. Like pitched way forward or creaky to the point of customer anxiety. That all made me love it more, but it isn’t best practices when it comes to customer service.
I was there a day or two before the avalanche, as the warm wet storm rolled in that set up the bad avy conditions. C-6 was closed for the day for wind or we would have gotten what turned out to be a last couple of rides in.
High Campbell was originally Yodelin’s Chair 2. It was a Hall, and both of Pilchuck’s were Riblets. I don’t know what Crystal did or was planning to do with those lifts, but they weren’t installed at Crystal. They may have been sold or may have been raided for parts for the resort’s existing Riblets.
OK… now that you mention it, I am pretty sure I _had_ read somewhere at some point that High Campbell came from Yodelin. Perhaps the Riblet drive terminal pictured above was part of one of the Pilchuck lifts.
If I’m right, the old Hall drive terminal is still on the hill at Yodelin. I also remember the old bone yard across from F Lot at Crystal where Pilchuck’s old lifts were stored. You could see the towers laid out and the chairs lined up in rows.
I don’t recall any surplus Riblets being stored across Crystal Creek from F-lot. We did put chair 9 there in the summer of ’97, and it stayed there until it went to Big Sky. I think we put parts of 5 there as well, but they didn’t stay long.

Was the original 6 from Pilchuck? Surely there is someone who knows for certain.

No, the bottom of 6 was new as part of the relocation. The lifts at Pilchuck were built before Riblet brought out that style of terminal.
