This lift came from Bretton Woods and replaced a Carlevaro-Savio double.Side view of the drive station. This CTEC model was called the Enterprise.Looking down the line.Orion top terminal.View down from the summit.Return bullwheel and idler sheaves.Looking up the line.Lower part of the line.
Idler sheave or pulley is a term generally used to describe a wheel that guides or tensions a belt.
In ski lift terminology, I have always called the single sheaves before and after the bullwheel “guide or guiding sheaves” as they guide the haul rope in to and out of the bullwheel’s groove. I have also heard the return bullwheel referred to as an “idler sheave”.
Hope this helps.
What’s an idler sheave?
