If someone would like to correct me, feel free to, but I think this might be the only 4 seater to feature D-Line terminal skins in the world.

Nearly finished Neptune Express and Galena Express also do. Other UNI-Gs planned for next summer will also feature this design.

For this year, yes, but DV will have more of these next year.

I’m curious to see where DV will put the names of these chairlifts on the new D-Line terminals.

I don’t know but I sure hope they come up with a better font then they one they have on their current lifts. If they use that font on these gorgeous new lifts it’ll be a travesty! They need to find a better font and repaint all the existing names.

I like the look of these terminal skins better than the true D Line skins since they have a thicker trim piece under the windows, with enough space for a name to be painted on. Also, the bottom terminal is shorter than Neptune’s, probably due to the line speed difference.

Will all new Uni-G chairlifts built have this new design of chair not necessarily the auto locking ones?

I don’t believe so, these are probably special order.

Correct, and it is also incredibly empty. Without any of the facilities to support beginner lessons, there is little demand for this lift at the moment.

running at such a low speed they could have saved some money here and put an Alpenstar quad here instead

The line speed here is listed at 3 m/s, which seems slow but is faster than a fixed-grip quad’s max speed of 2.3 m/s. Additionally, a detach running at that speed has such a low terminal speed that it helps beginners immensely. A fixed-grip would stop a significantly higher amount, which generally does not go over well with passengers. We see this with our K-lift, which runs 4 m/s and rarely stops at all (and contrasts with L-lift, a fixed triple that typically runs at 2 m/s but stops and slows all. the. time.

You can differentiate this lift from a true D-line thanks to the support mast.

This is what Boyne should do with their refurbished lifts going forward. They’ve been giving older lifts new Uni-G skins, but these D-Line skins look really sharp on a HSQ
