This lift was overhauled in 1986. The drive terminal was replaced and some of the line gear was replaced. Grips and chairs were also replaced (the lift originally had center-pole chairs).
Looks like the return terminal is new too, the Summit Double at Sugarbush/Glen Ellen was built the same year also by Stadeli and had a return terminal like this: http://www.chairlift.org/pics/sb/sb22.jpg
Also note the newer tower at the summit, another part of an upgrade in terms of the return.
That drive looks like the industrial design team was two dudes and a coke party with Listen Like Thieves on the boombox and the fabricator was Joey, second cousin to dude #2, with an aluminium stamp and some tin snips. And I like it. Like, a whole lot. “Hey, here’s the story: forget about your troubles in life. . .”

That last tower was the old tower 1! It was moved up there during the rebuild.

Gearbox is being rebuilt right now. They hope to have it back up and running mid-march.
