This lift should be removed and replaced with a new chair from the base to the top of Beaver Bowl. The terrain up there is fantastic and underutilized. The one negative I see is that it would only serve advanced terrain, but Squaw/Alpine has never shied from adding lifts aimed only at expert skiers.

A solution to that could be a mid station where this lift currently ends. That would also allow you to make continuous laps of the terrain without skiing down the Kangaroo run.

The only thing about it is that I believe Squaw/Alpine likes to keep the bowls and that uncrowned to preserve the snow. I believe that’s one of the reasons why the Broken Arrow Chair At Squaw Dosent Run much. So they probably would not want to built a lift like this.

That’s a fair point with Broken Arrow, but they do have a couple lifts with similar terrain as Beaver. Headwall Express immediately comes to mind.

It would probably have to have a mid-station where the current lift ends because the ski team uses the kangaroo run a lot.

They could also leave Kangaroo where it is and then add a new lift from somewhere near Kangaroo to the top of Beaver Bowl. With Red Dog soon to be replaced next door it seems like it wouldn’t be too hard to move it over to Alpine and shorten it. That way the ski team can still use Kangaroo while the new chair could be accessible from Summit Six and possibly from California Express depending where they place the Alpine mid station. Would certainly be more cost effective than a HSQ with a mid station.
