Is this lift used in the winter for skiing, or does it just sit dormant?

Only used in summer, in the winter it is dormant. There is no tension system on it.

Pretty sure there is a tension system at the top.

Pic 6 and 8 pretty clearly show a tensioning system.

There is a tension system. The counterweight appears to be out of the photos, but there is a counterweight rope.

There is a counterweight rope but it is fixed on a concrete bloc on the ground, so no tension. I will get photos the next time I go there.
