This lift was built well after the CTEC merger but appears to utilize entirely pre-merger Doppelmayr equipment.Top tension station.View down the lift line.Lower part of the line.Optional mid-station for certain times of the year.View up the line.Drive station seen from above. This lift uses Uni-G style cladding.Loading area with conveyor.Split tower for the summer mid-unload.View down at tower 4.
This lift is the first to open for the season and the last to close. The mid station is used in the summer for the waterpark. It used to just be called L’Etoile, but it received Atomic branding for 2019-2020. I think that happened because the Atomic Express was removed, but their advertising contract with Atomic wasn’t up, so they had to rebrand another lift.
unfortunately that mid station is no longer in use for the water park in the summer, and neither is the lift in general outside of winter. This happened after they closed the top 3/4 of the slides which use it. This also meant that the other water park lift (which also seemed to have been missed when visiting the site) was discontinued and sits abandoned to this day. the lines are overgrown and the power lines are laying on the ground. Fun fact however, the water still runs in the top part of the slide all summer to provide for the lower parts still being used. The only difference is that nobody goes down it. However given the state of the old tube lift and how moldy the mid station deck must be by now, I doubt that any of it will be reopened to the public.
There was apparently a security issue with the part of the slides that is not opened, which explains the closure of it. They could use the midstation in the winter to provide access to the steep part of the Nordic trail if they wanted to ? L’Étoile is only opened for the fall scenic rides (excepted winter of course).
Save for the towers, the equipment on this lift is commonly seen in Europe.
