This lift stretches almost a mile and services most of Montage’s vertical.View from the summit.Fixed drive terminal.Upper lift line.The middle part of the line is nearly flat.View up to the summit.Lower lift line.The first few towers.Loading area.Uphill end of the return terminal.Loading area.
Everybody complains that this lift is slow and that Montage needs a high speed lift. I don’t know if a high speed lift will ever make sense at Montage but what if they installed a conveyor loader under long haul and then cranked the speed wayyy up? I doubt the lift is capably of doing that but thanks for listening to my TED talk anyway
If there was ever a lift that’s in dire need of being upgraded to high speed, it’s this one. It takes 15 minutes to reach the top. Holiday Valley upgraded two lifts in the several years and it made all the difference in enjoying the day.
I think it should 100% be upgraded and even though it may not fit the scenery it would appeal more to the masses and be much more convenient, because it is a very very very long lift. Also if they did upgrade it it would take a long time and they would more than likely add a caplse.That’s just my opinion though.

well.. they could bump it up to 500FPM instead of 450..
