Do you think they should replace chair 1 with a detachable or fixed grip quad?

Cost-benefit wise, fixed-grip probably makes sense but a detachable would certainly distinguish Lookout Pass in this region full of fixed-grips. I’m amazed Silver Mountain still spins a 5,300′ Riblet.

Silver Mountain has been plagued with financial issues, but with it recently changing hands, hopefully the owner has plans of investing in some new infrastructure. I’ve only skied Silver Mountain a few times and 2 out of the 4 times, it rained while there.

Silver has always been notoriously behind the times.

Sometimes this is good. Its best terrain sits 500-1000′ higher than most local competition, other than Lookout, as well as sitting more on a true long alpine ridgeline vs Mt Spokane or 49.

So better snow, and more of it. The old Riblet has the best terrain pod on the mountain, and I’ve never seen a lift line longer than about a minute.

If they were to do the obvious and replace 2 and 4 with detachables, Silver would instantly be on the radar and skied out exponentially faster.

says here Lookout Pass will install a new Skytrac Quad in the summer of 2022 and grow to 1650 feet vertical. Not noted on your new 2022 lifts page yet.
