Do you know if Doppelmayr CTEC replaced the bottom terminal, or if it was a custom job?

Superior would make sense given how Riblety it looks.

On the SkiBowl website history page they list this lift as a 1965 install, not a 1966.

Lift installation surveys list a 3480 foot double built at Ski Bowl in 1966. The history page is most likely referring to when construction started rather than when it was finished.

Lower Bowl suffered an electrical damage to it’s drive motor sometime between Saturday January 13th and Monday January 15th, 2024. There is no timeline yet for repairs to be completed. The weather was bad on the mountain knocking power out. Ski Bowl closed at noon on the 13th and reopened on 15th.

Lower Bowl is the primary mover out of the Ski Bowl West base area so they have been running out of Ski Bowl East as the primary base area. They have also been running Cascade for night skiing which I have not seen in many years.

I believe they use generators to power the lifts when the power is out. They finished repairs and got Lower Bowl running on January 23rd. I talked to someone at Ski Bowl that said the drive motor ended up getting fried and the motor was only a year and half old. They ended up replacing it with a new motor and the old motor is going to be rebuilt for a back up.

Without seeing the old one, it’s possible it was an older outdated design and merely needed to be upgraded to current standards. This happens quite a lot.
