I feel like holiday is going to need to either do some serious upgrades or replacements for both chairlifts in the near future. Blue is slow and comes from a company that has almost no operating lifts left in the US, and was came to holiday relocated in 1985. Yellow is just as bad, it was originally built at nubs nob in 1958, and I haven’t seen it run once in the last few years despite the fact that it covers a third of the resort. As far as I’m concerned, pretty much anything would be an upgrade for these lifts

Mt. Holiday needs a new / modern snowmaking system, upgrades to the lodge infrastructure, and some replacement lifts – likely in the form of second-hand acquired lifts. Doubtful they could afford new, but a replacement of some 80s/90s era fixed grip Riblet / Poma / Doppelmayer chairs would be in their sweetspot.

there are probably a dozen lifts in Northern MI alone that could be replaced in the future and reused here. Boyne Mountain will have two Riblet quads and a Borvig triple coming out if they stick to their 2030 plan. the Highlands will likely be ripping out half a dozen Riblet triples and quads in favor of a more consolidated network of high capacity lifts. with a triple or quad on Blue, a double or triple on yellow, and carpet to replace the short beginners tow, they could have a decent enough lift system to last 25 years. also they really do need better snowmaking, six snow guns is rediculous for the Midwest when everywhere else has hundreds. Every year they seem to open in mid to late January, and the trails by Yellow never actually open (could be the lift, could be the snowmaking, both suck), which just isn’t going to keep skiers coming.

Per a 3 December 1959 article in the Clare Sentinel: a new t-bar lift was installed this season.
