The Mystery double replaced a very long Poma lift in the 1980s.There are really only a few runs off the lift and sometimes it only operates in the afternoons. The bottom terminal is a fixed vault drive.Tower 2.Riding up the line.A Riblet crossarm.Nearing the mid-station.View back down the line.Often all riders are required to get off at this first stop. The counterweight up top with the old Poma station in the background.Upper terminal obviously relocated from somewhere else. This station is often unmanned when the lift is operating to the mid.Upper lift line.View towards the top station.Just above the mid-station.Lower station next to the gondola line. The lift line seen from Bridge chair.

This is a very flat lift, with a grade even less than the ullr beginner chair. However, with a new lift ( low capacity detach quad), snowmaking, and a couple new trails, it could be a great beginner/low intermediate pod.
What is the reason for not opening this section for the second season in a row? I understand last year with the record warmth it probably wasn’t worth it, but last I knew there was some snowmaking up to midpoint.
I had heard about the snowmaking pipe burst, but not about the gearbox. Given the setbacks on the expansion application, there’s opportunity to invest in a new lift here and add several new trails to build this pod out. Lutsen doesn’t really have any other top to bottom beginner/low intermediate terrain so it would be a nice addition.

Indeed. This pod looks underutilised. So many deciduous to snake amongst, too, also.

From what I’ve heard, there was a snowmaking pipe burst, and the gearbox decided to shred itself.
