This is the oldest along with game creek 7, the replaced vista bahn 16, and the replaced mountain top 4. There are only three CLD260s left at vail being orient 21, game creek 7, and born free 8.
I’m guessing that next year when vail announces their capital improvements for next summer they are probably gonna an ounce replacing game creek with a six pack.
If they remove game creek, it will most likely be with another 4 pack because the terrain area is so small unless they do studies with skiers to see as to whether they ski the bowl or use it mostly as access from the top of lionshead to Sundown bowl. This may warrant a 6 pack, but does that little log jam have enough room for one and able to hold the same sized line areas? Game creek may be around a few more years.
As you correctly pointed out, most people do not lap Game Creek. But, it does get very crowded because of the influx of skiers from Eagle’s Nest seeking to go elsewhere. Additionally, Game Creek’s existing capacity is 2800, so only a six or eight pack would provide an increase.
Was this one of the oldest CLD-260’s there was? 1985 is pretty old for a detachable. Very old

They could replace game creek with a 6 and wildwood with a 4 in the same year to provide some new lift access to the wildwood summit zone.
