This lift serves as a backup to a nearby Leitner-Poma quad.Side view of the Blue Mountain top terminal.View from the summit.Middle section of the lift line.Tower 4.Looking up the line.Lower part of the line.Lift overview.Loading area.Side view of the drive station and tower 1.
The listing says 1581 feet, and google maps says 1571 not accounting for vertical portion so I think this is indeed the lift mentioned there in 1988. The other lift alignment on this mountain is nearly 400 feet longer so it seems that this is the only possible spot to fit the lift mentioned here as well. Beyond any reasonable doubt the old john lift was installed in 1988.It also was spinning this winter so it seems they do want to keep it operational. fun fact; it’s faster than the newer lift beside it.
This appears to have been installed in 1988

it hasn’t moved all season and has the maintenance carrier parked in the bottom:
Top is snowed in:
Still listed on the trail map but hasn’t moved an inch, maybe it’s not long for this world.
