Dating back to 1971, the Peachtree lift is an extremely rare center-pole model. The double features counterweight tensioning at the return.Bottom station and tower 1 seen from Westwall.View up the short lift line from the load point.Bottom terminal with tension carriage.Leaving the base area.View back down the lift line.Arriving at the drive. This is a vault drive terminal with the electric motor and auxiliary engine located below the unload ramp.Lower section of the lift line.Top station seen from Silver Queen.
These chairs look a lot like the old Heron Thunderbird chairs at Snoqualmie Summit, WA. Except the Thunderbird center poles were fixed into the back of the chair.
It was sad to see T-bird go. At night you could hear the chairs clatter from across the whole ski area. The counterweight tower apparently was run into and damaged by a cat back when Booth Creek was running things. They opted to scrap it instead of fix or replace it. The Thunderbird Lodge is still sitting vacant at the top.
My dad was a part of the construction crew of Peach Tree. If anyone knows if they will be selling the chairs, please let me know. That would be a great gift for him.

Not too many people on here remember that lift! That was a classic, and fun night skiing to boot.
