That bottom drive has a very retro look to it.

This is the former Gold Chair from Nakiska, which was replaced by a Leitner-Poma high speed quad.

When this operated at Nakiska, it was a top-drive/bottom tension lift.

This explains the unusual design of the breakover sheaves on the return station, as those were depression sheaves as Gold Chair.

Funny to see height adjustment on a lift at Nakiska.

This lift operates sporadically. I was lucky it was open when I was there.

is this lift a primary diesel or is this run by a electric motor?

On the lucky days this lift runs, it is powered by a diesel generator in a shed, to the lift riders right. So it is ran on both: diesel generator powers electric motor.

Even when the lift is not running, the Diesel motor is still on but gives less power.
