Quicksilver – Crystal Mountain, WA

Skytrac relocated this quad chair from Deer Valley to Crystal in 2014.
This lift follows a new, shorter alignment from the previous double chair.

What a weird lift. Why wouldn’t they make this more accessible? Really odd choice for where they decided to put the stations. Not a fan.

Also, it’s a fun lift to lap and extending the base lower down would leave a flat runout. My only complaint about quicksilver is that it rarely runs midweek

One can still access it from chair 8. I agree, though, it would have been nice to have it at the actual bottom of the hill. I hated hiking to the bottom of old 4 after they removed the old rope tows, and then they moved it uphill, and now there’s this. Seems CM doesn’t quite know what to do with this pod.

JK didn’t, anyway. Too much coke, maybe.

Crystal Mountain doesn’t really have a “dedicated” beginner area and if the base terminal of this lift was located in the Crystal Mountain base area, experienced skiers would be whizzing by beginners all day long scaring them to them to death. Therefore, having the base terminal located where it currently is helps prevent this.

They should re align the lift to the top of the snow garden run thus it would be easier to access forest queen express and other green runs

I know you’ve skied here, but most experts return to the base area via Skid Road/Arwine’s/whatever they call it now and not lower Quicksilver. There isn’t a great deal of space between 8 and 11 anyway, so my point should probably be discounted.

The former Deer Crest lift looks like it’s still good as new.

Those look like normal CTEC carriers.
