Did they replace the chairs because I don’t recall Riblet making bail-type chairs in 1965

Riblet has always manufactured bail-type chairs. In the 60s and 70s, however, many resorts used center pole chairs (because they were cheaper I would guess). In 1985 or so, the design of their bail chairs changed from having vertical side tubes to having a slight bend in the middle.

Quite a number of Riblets with the post 1985 design are actually center-poles that have been retrofitted.

Will is correct. All four of Crystal’s original Riblets had bails, not centre-poles. I miss old 4. This chair was so fun to run. Especially the top station on a nice sunny January day. Good view of East Peak.

I remember when Quarter Way, the mid-station, was removed. It was a mid unload and load station. The bottom terminal was moved uphill several hundred feet at the same time. This was sometime after Chair 8 went in. Chair 4’s bottom terminal was right next to 8’s in the base area and was an easy walk to get to.

It was a long time after 8 went in. That was ’84, and 4 wasn’t shortened until after I left there, so at least ’97.

I think it was when they installed 11, so likely 98. Also, they wouldn’t have had time to do it after you moved to Hamster Dumpster but before winter. I ran 4 in 99/00 and it was the shorter length/no Quarterway arrangement. It was a longer walk from the time clock than before, but easier than waiting for a sled ride from Shank or sitting on Chair 8.
