Rakes Rider – Angel Fire, NM

Angel Fire returned direct lift service to this steep part of the mountain in 2025 after a nearly 30 year gap. A Riblet double used to run in a similar alignment.
Leitner-Poma supplied the new quad as part of a two lift deal.

    Why does the last tower deflect the haul rope for a different line gauge for the bullwheel? I don’t see why that would be needed. Can someone explain?

      compact Alpha terminal has a smaller bullwheel at the top Terminal than at the return.

        So that begs the question: why does the compact Alpha done gots the smaller bullwheel? Power? Sveltiness? Cussedness?

          Shipping width, BW comes mounted to terminal carriage so can’t be much wider than a single lane

          I recall the smaller bullwheel being a thing on a lot of Pomas- wonder if it was always a shipping thing or something else? L-jack has that and it was one of the very first Pomas at least partially manufactured in GJ.

    It’s also cheaper. It takes less torque to Drive a smaller diameter Bullwheel.
