Poma Alpha bottom drive station.Integrated depression sheaves and Yan operator house.Another view of the loading area.Lift line view.Lower part of the lift line.Just after crossing below Far East.Upper part of the line with half towers and light side flyover.View down the lift line from the top.Tower 16 and the top bullwheel.Fixed top terminal.Side view of the top bullwheel and operator house.Lift line from the Far East Express.
When this is replaced, I wonder whether it will continue to cross under far east or if they decide to shorten far east towers and have Red Dog cross over far east
from the looks of it when I drove by last month it almost looks as if the new lift line is SUPER close to the original track of the first red dog lift. It is a much less practical loading area and I dont know how they would even fit an express lift terminal there, but I can confirm they have cut a lift line going from that area
I went by the resort last month and this lift seems to be kept in parts in the parking lot as if it is going to be re-used. I hope they do re use it since there are quite a few locations I could see it being very useful at.
The new lift should be open for this season. I believe the old lift is being stored with a TBD destination, similar to Hot Wheel a couple years ago.
My guess for both lifts is that they will either be re-installed at June or sold to a smaller California resort that is looking for a deal on a triple lift.
I remember the original lift. 1969
I fell off of it right after I went to sit down at the beginning. Right into the catch net.
That was a real pain in the ass

The new red dog is open cant wait to see these pics! Th best part, the new lift isn’t 100 feet off the ground like the old one was.

Anybody know where the old Red Dog lift ended up? Curious to see if it resurfaces somewhere.

A bunch of it is currently buried under snow near High Camp.

No source here, but my guess is that they are going to use it to upgrade Belmont to a fixed grip triple this summer.

Yeah, I noticed it up there today. I was hoping they would replace the slow Emigrant with it, but fairly sure it’s going to Belmont.
