This 1971 Mueller services its own mountain on the skier’s right side of Red Mountain Resort. The bottom terminal has the drive and tensioning.Drive unit and bullwheel.Riding up the lift line.View back down the lift line.Arriving at the top terminal.Lift line overview.Lattice tower.Portal tower 1.This lift has two different grip styles. This is a double version.View down the line.Fixed top bullwheel.Tower 2.
Here are a bunch of photos of the 1947 single chair that predated this lift (credit – Rossland Museum).
Looks like a top-drive, bottom tension lift. The bottom bull wheel also looks like it was angled downward. All wooden lattice towers. Very unique lift for sure. It also looks like the bottom terminal may have been replaced before the lift was ultimately replaced.
I’ve never seen so many lattice towers before. That is neat.
