Something is wrong with the data, there is no way this lift is 253 vertical feet. Per USGS topo maps, it’s about 140′ and via google earth it’s about the 160′

this lift is seriously underrated. it’s really short, but it never has a line, the snows usually good, and it has night skiing. I’ve spent hours fast lapping the ridge and norms way with this lift.

Is Ridge going to need a replacement anytime soon? it is going on 35 years old in this location, which I don’t think is the original. Also, the lift runs every day and has night skiing so it has to have a lot of hours on it

I think this is it’s original location, it looks like a 1988 install.

This lift is actually a relocation within the resort. It was originally the Main Street chair (1990 installation), which ran the line of the current Crystal Clipper. It was installed around 2000 in its current location. Yes, the data is wrong. I show current estimates at 202 ft vertical and 875 ft inclined length. Awesome hot laps are available on this baby.

There has only been two charlifts serving Main Street since the mountain opened in the 50’s. First was the Brandle/Brandley, Swiss made chairlift with its four-legged towers that ran from about 1960 up to when the Crystal Clipper was installed. All of the backside runs were built afterward with new lift installs. I was an employee.

Wrong. I skied at Crystal dozens of times in the 90s. This lift was on Main Street in the 90s. It was shorter than the Clipper and started almost halfway up the hill. I had ridden that lift probably 100 times.

Certainly lappable terrain, but man would that be a more enticing prospect if the lift moved faster than a snail’s pace.
