BW is my home mountain and I ride this lift all the time and I have never understood why they chose a HSQ. This lift is so short a fixed grip lift would have made more sense. I also don’t understand why they this lift at only 800FPM along with there other lifts and can go so much faster.

If I am not mistaken this is in fact a post merger Doppelmayer lift still using the Stealth III terminal. Deer valley have two of these, one labeled Doppelmayer CTEC and the other Garaventa CTEC, both 1 year apart from each other

Follow up to Mr Shiba: the merger was completed in 2002, according to doppelmayr.com. They definitely used both the existing Stealth and Uni-whatevers for a couple seasons before offing the Stealth. I imagine it was due to reasons. At any rate, 2003 is later than 2002, so, Doppelmayr/CTEC for Rosebud here–even though you are correct that visually it is all G/CTEC. That D/CTEC continued until (I couldn’t find when in the 5 minutes I was willing to look) they offed the CTEC brand name. Given the Garaventa/CTEC merger of the early 90s, it was kind of a moot point. By the D/G merger time, most of the old CTEC dna was not apparent visually, even if it still was in the company itself. I’m certain somebody else could expound on that specific point; I only have conjecture, paired with some nostalgia for the Thiokol era. Cos, y’know, I’m old. And one of my favourite chair to bump was/still is a Thiokol. And Thiokol/LMC cats were cool lookin like a early Burton Twin or a 1991 Fisher RC4 GS board. God, I wanted a pair of those.
