im not sure what okemo did with the old Jackson Gore express quade when they made it a bubble, but sachem quad is so slow, and it being faster could appeal to people who want to go to the summit if they took that and the glades peak quad. that would ease the ridiculous crowds that go to the sunburst six on busy days.
This lift was installed with dual purposes. 1) To give an easy two-lift ride to the top of Glades Peak and 2) to give the Okemo trailside homeowners an option to only use green trails while returning home.
It replaced a double chair on the same alignment. Glades Peak, built 2 years later also replaced a double chair. However, since the installation of the Northstar Express, later replaced by Sunburst, it’s mostly used as an overflow lift for when Sunburst gets crowded, as homeowner access, and as an alternative out of base route after taking the F-10 magic carpet. That used to be the route out of the base early season, but since 17-18, they’ve opened directly from the base quads.
I would like to see Sachem upgraded to a detachable more than Glades Peak. Glades Peak pod trails already get a lot of traffic from both South Face and Sunburst even though Glades never has a line, I feel that pod would become too crowded on trails if it was a detachable as it would attract even more skiers. Glades works as is as an expert pod with a slower lift. Sachem I feel though is underutilized as a pod and would benefit with a faster lift and spread people out more across the mountain.

Glades Peak definitely has some great expert trails off of it, but it also is an important gateway into South Face. More people use that lift to get into South Face than people do to ski the trails off of it. However, it definitely does work for the expert pod job too. You can use it to lap Double Diamond and Outrage, two of the best trails on he mountain IMO). You can even use it to lap a few of the main mountain blacks (Mueller’s Run And Upper World Cup). It also allows beginner skiers to get to Upper Mountain Road And Buckhorn. It definitely serves that purpose very well, however It’s more than just an expert lift.
Where do I start. It seems like it takes forever to get to the top. I do like the footrests and it’s a more quiet lift. Doesn’t really access to many trails. Good views of the lower mountain behind. Maybe replace it with a high speed at some point

Quantum Four was never designed for use as a bubble lift.
