How did the silver fir HSQ result in new terrain? I remember there used to be a fixed grip chair before the detach went in that covered the same terrain pod
I can remember some very slow, very cold rides on this lift. The sheaves always squeaked too. And it was always spooky going over the really high part, especially if you were there when the lift stopped. Once they reinstalled it as the new Dinosaur they must’ve given it a new motor, it runs a lot faster now.
Riblet sheaves always squeak in humid climates (i.e. the PNW).
The motor shouldn’t have had anything to do with the speed. That’s an operational decision and the lift should be designed to run at the maximum allowed by code, unless otherwise specified as we did with our K-lift detach replacement.
This chair was the last expansion of terrain on Snoqualmie Pass

I remember being pretty excited to ski it the season it opened. Good stuff.
