That’s the “Garaventa carrier.” Garaventa CTEC offered it as an alternate to the Stealth carrier on their detachables, and it was the standard carrier on Stealth III detachables. It became Doppelmayr CTEC’s standard carrier in 2004 (though a handful of mountains would still opt for the EJ) and was going to completely replace both the EJ and CTEC (used by DoppC on fixed grips through 2007) carriers, but the Garaventa carriers were continued after 2009. The EJ was Doppelmayr USA’s standard carrier (again) starting in 2010.

I don’t think the Garaventa carrier was ever made smaller than a quad, as all of the Doppelmayr CTEC fixed grip triples and doubles that I have found have CTEC carriers (if built before 2008) or EJ carriers (if built 2008 or later).

Alta had three lifts with Garaventa triple chairs, two of them still stand (Sunnyside and Rustler Lodge Lift). Though, these were with the standard backrests, not the two slat backrests as shown on this lift.

That’s right, I forgot about those. Sunnyside, Rustler, Supreme, and Germania right? Sunnyside & Rustler still run and were built by Garaventa CTEC before the merger with Doppelmayr. Supreme came from Sugarloaf and got its triple chairs before the relocation. Germania went to Beaver Mtn and retained its chairs.

Yup that’s correct. The Supreme and Germania triple lifts were a mishmash of CTEC and Yan components.

Does anyone know what happened to Supreme? I seem to recall it was for sale a few years ago.

I may be mistaken but I don’t think this lift has enough chairs to achieve its design capacity of 2400 people per hour.

It was not smart from Red to remove the triple, they should have kept it in place as a direct link to Motherlode and a redundency to the current lift, now the quad can get big lines as it is the only way to granite, grey and kirkup mountains from the base.
