Sky Ride – Casino Pier, NJ

This Partek sky ride services the beach in front of Seaside Heights Boardwalk.
Chairs are grouped by color.
Most of the surrounding structures were destroyed by Hurricane Sandy but the chairlift survived.
The beach used to go right up past the chairlift but dunes were built to protect the town from storms.

    This lift really seems to look more like a Borvig later modified by Partek, it has counterweight tension ans Borvig chairs.

      Each chair is rated for 170lbs per person, times the number of people per chair, times the number of chairs on the uphill side. Complicated by the design of downhill capacity…

          From ANSI B77.1-
          “For purposes of design, a passenger shall be considered
          as having a minimum average weight of 170 pounds
          (77.1 kilograms). It is the owners’ responsibility to
          indicate unusual considerations that might affect the
          design passenger weight.”
