Skyline Express – Ski Bluewood, WA

From 1978 to 1986, Skyline Express was the only lift at Bluewood. The drive terminal was built into the base lodge.

I was at Bluewood today, and Skyline Express was definitely hauling more than 600 skiers per hour, even with frequent stopping. I’m guessing that 600-passenger figure in the table is probably because they removed 2/3 of the chairs for summer ops… there’s a sign in that building that says downloading is limited to every third chair. I didn’t time it, but it seemed like today the chairs were coming every 9-10 seconds or so.

So crazy how ugly it looks in summer. I feel like Iam just skiing on walking trails in the winter. Super cool post! Love Bluewood
