SkyTrail – Trees of Mystery, CA

Trees of Mystery is an attraction near the Redwood National Park that features a Poma gondola opened in 2001.
The pulse gondola is capable of travelling up to a whopping 1,100 fpm.
Headed up the first pitch.
Tower 2.
Between towers 2 and 3, a “Pomabus” evacuation carrier can be used where the height above the ground is greatest.
Each pulse has only one cabin and the ride slows three times during a one-way trip.
The evacuation carrier is stored at the base of tower 3.
View down the lift line.
Half of the lift’s towers are right at the top.
The breakover.
Fixed return bullwheel.
Top station overview.
2001 Poma tower heads.
The top trunaround.
A cabin at the summit. There are 8 6-passenger gondolas.
Towers 4, 5 and 6.
Tower 3 with a unique tower head for the evacuation system.
Looking down the line above tower 2.
View up the line below T3.
Evacuees from the rescue carrier would be offloaded on tower 2 and walk the rest of the way down.
View of the evac system.
Cabin 7.
Tower 2.
Another view of tower 2.
Poma Alpha drive/tension station. The middle part of the platform is hydraulically moved with the motor room above.

How does the pomabus system work? Is there a video somewhere? I couldn’t find anything straight off of google.

I think it is put on the rope and moves up and down.

I’m pretty sure the platform is height-adjustable and is moved up when there’s an accident. They then run the gondola slowly so passengers can disembark at the platform

Are those CWA cabins? They look like CWA. I was also wondering how Poma Bus System works.
