On your winter lift ride up Snake Creek, wasn’t it the same day it had a power outage last night along with the other lifts and all Solitude’s lifts? If so, the result was that they replaced the motor temporary with a 16-cylinder type diesel engine which means until afternoon, people have to go on every other chair until operators cranked up the engine. I visited Brighton when the lift was powered by diesel during that time. It was on February 20th, 2016 when the lift was powered by diesel.
I cant imagine they put a 16 cylinder in these. I know the old stealth detachables usually had detroit 8v71T’s or 6v71T’s, that or probably a caterpillar v8
The old Snake Creek triple is still in operation at Granite Peak WI as one of our main lifts, Always wanted to see pictures of it at Brighton but haven’t found any.
Wonder why they painted the bottom all white. It used to match the other lifts with the same colors as the top, and everything else at Brighton is green. CTEC Stealth 2 is probably the easiest detachable terminal design to pull off a two-tone paint job.
As of December 2021, this lift is now open for night skiing. This brings Brighton to four lifts for night operations, two of them being high speed quads.
Definitely a more packed lift here. I think eventually they should replace it with a six or an eight pack. I didn’t go on it as much due to the long lines. I think its one of the faster lifts here so that’s a bonus as well as footrests
