Why does every older Alpha terminal have the end caps fall off? It makes the lift look horrible and like it isn’t being taken care of. It can’t be that hard to custom fabricate a small piece of plastic to screw on and cover it, can it?
Because they suck to put back on. Ours is way off the ground and you’d need a man-lift to do it- a ladder wouldn’t cut it. I’m not saying it can’t be done, just that most of us are busy doing other lift maintenance things rather than worrying about a small cosmetic item.
I am sorta surprised their insurance carrier has not made them put the restraint bars on this lift because as of 2017 all new lifts are required by to have them.
The drive terminal was the former drive of Fanny Hill while at Snowmass. Once they replaced Fanny Hill, they reused some of the parts for other lifts…like chairs went to Assay Hill/Meadows, drive terminal to Burlingame…
The unload station for this was originally a conventional vault drive at the point where the Village Express’s midstation is now.
After the Village Express was built, Burlingame was cut back to end where the original Fanny Hill ended.
Much like Lift 2 at Loveland, you could obviously tell that Burlingame was never meant to end at this point, given the downhill descent into the unload area.
As of 2024, Burlingame has effectively been replaced by the Coney Express, which starts at Burlingame’s location at the base, then has a midstation where the lift was cut back to in 2005, then makes a turn and runs to Coney Glade’s former unload location.

I’m not sure how the comfort bar would have helped in this case since the entire back of the chair failed.
