Snowshed Express – Killington, VT

Killington bought two Yan detachables before switching back to Poma for new lifts. This one services the Snowshed area and was modified to use Poma grips and line gear.
Poma also built new enclosures over the Yan terminals.

I know Superstar is likey the number one candidate to potentially become an eight-pack at Killington, but Snowshed is not a bad pick either. Higher capacity chairs would be beneficial for large beginner ski lessons who can all load together, and the slope is wide enough to handle the high overall capacity. The lift is also old, so it likely needs to be replaced at some point soon.

No Superstar needs a replacement much more and will probably be the lift here that becomes an eight-place chairlift.

This was my first high speed lift at Killington. And me and my dad’s oldest detachable. Glad it’s still running. It does not operate that well in high winds due to Snowshed being the windiest section on the mountain. Lots of great beginner trails from this lift. Also, it was our first mountain biking lift. Trails are awesome too
