The two most scenic resorts in North America are Lake Louise and Sunshine. Nowhere else offers jagged peaks in all directions and unspoiled wilderness. Kicking Horse is a candidate for number 3.
I’ll second this. Sunshine in particular is worth a trip just for the view. I caught clouds at Fernie and KH, but Panorama has better views than Revelstoke (which is still gorgeous). Telluride, Brian Head, Homewood and Heavenly all deserve a mention as well.
I would say that the best views at Kicking Horse are facing west at the top of the gondola (where the Eagle’s Eye Restaurant is.) The gondola looks like it’s super long when you look on the map but I found that it’s shorter than you would expect. The peaks there are just incredible, exactly like Louise and Sunshine. It’s pretty cool how you can see 50k away from the top. WB has some awesome views looking at the Spearhead area, too.
I think Revy and Fernie have amazing views, especially into the valley, but they just don’t have the massive peaks that the Rockies do.
I suspect this lift is worth taking solely for the view.

Oh yes. The only real comparison I’ve found in NA was Revelstoke.
I’ve never skied Fernie or Panorama but I hear they’re pretty phenomenal as well. Interior BC is just something else.
