i go to gore fairly often on the weekends during winter and they’ve been doing that pretty much all season if i remember. most definitely the main reason why i want this replaced asap.
really…i feel like i remember them doing the every other chair thing on the first weekend of january, or maybe it was the time i went during mlk weekend.
“Routine maintenance and repairs will also be completed on many of our lifts including the replacement of the haul rope on the Straight Brook Quad. This will fix the issue we have had this past season that required us to load every other chair during periods of high traffic – we thank you for bearing with us through the issue and are excited to run that lift at full capacity next winter.”
On the last photo you could see part of the old gondola.

I wonder when this will be replaced. For the past month or so they’ve been loading every other chair because of a supposed “hydraulic issue”.

When I was there in early Jan, they loaded every chair? Any idea when it may have started?

I think late January to early February.

22 chairs have been removed from this lift. The original count was 124, but it is now 102. This reduces the capacity from 2400 to 2000.
