Interesting how they installed that massive deck at the top. Seems like they intend to use this lift in the summer. It basically connects the hotel, indoor waterpark, mountain coaster, and alpine slide to the waterpark.

Whats up with the red sheaves?

You’d think that if they advertised a fixed grip lift as high speed they’d at least do the bare minimum and install a loading carpet, right?

The red sheaves are actually for electrical grounding. The red part is rubber. The grounding sheaves are meant to manage static electricity that builds up from vibrations and friction that occurs normally from lift operations. I am not sure what (if any) role they play when a lift is struck by lighting. You will usually see grounding sheaves on depression and compression assemblies with a significant rope deflection, because those sheaves see more pressure and vibration as a result of the deflection load relative to sheaves with a minimal deflection.
