Sundola – Central Washington State Fair, WA

This Riblet chairlift services a short fall fair in Yakima, Washington each year.
The lift has 8 towers and 115 chairs.

    The sheaves look Riblety, but the towers don’t. Any ideas what they are?

      I haven’t found a solid source for when they installed this, but there was a contest to name it in the mid 90s, so I’d assume it was built around then.

      It seems like Riblet started changing up their designs around this time. C-8 at Mt. Baker has towers that don’t look traditionally Riblet as well.

      But that’s just me hazarding a guess.

    Those are Riblet towers. They only built a few like them; most of the ones people are used to are the clamp-style built from angle iron or C-channel (like the aforementioned chair 8).

    Only fitting that the state fair have a riblet lift. May it live long. It looks great in white!
