To answer your question simply,: all tower foundations have to be a certain size as designed by the ski lift engineers. Most of the time it is possible to bury most of the tower foundation underground so people cannot see the foundation. The reason this foundation on Tower ten looks so big is that the lift installers decided they were unable to get enough of the tower foundation underground , out of sight, so some of it sticks up above ground.

The reason this foundation on Tower ten looks so big is that the lift installers decided they were unable to get enough of the tower foundation underground , out of sight, so some of it sticks up above ground.
