Sunrise – Stowe, VT

The first six place chairlift at Stowe features full carrier parking at the base terminal.
This lift replaced a Doppelmayr triple but starts lower, necessitating contour loading.

    Why such a large foundation for a certain tower?

      To answer your question simply,: all tower foundations have to be a certain size as designed by the ski lift engineers. Most of the time it is possible to bury most of the tower foundation underground so people cannot see the foundation. The reason this foundation on Tower ten looks so big is that the lift installers decided they were unable to get enough of the tower foundation underground , out of sight, so some of it sticks up above ground.

    Wish they would’ve went the same color scheme as Fourrunner this kinda sticks out like a sore thumb.

    orange and green are … not complimentary colors. a purple underside would of looked cool though.
