In a low snow year, you can see sawed-off Riblet tower footings from the old Condor double, which must have been a very long ride

I grew skiing up at the old Park West in the 80s. The ride on the old Ironhorse, as it was called way back then, was incredibly long and miserable, especially in the wind up on top of the ridge. But I have so many great childhood memories on that part of the mountain.

I skied there for the first time when it was Wolf Mountain. We got stuck on the Condor chair for 45 minutes after it derailed to some extent. 4 year old me was excited for the free hot chocolate coupon we got at the top.

I agree, they would. This lift tends to get very windy and cold near the top, so I wish it had bubbles. However, that would just add to the already common wind closures for this lift.

Not to mention vail has a vendetta against bubble chairs.

The terrain off this lift is extremely under skied in my opinion.

This lift is incredibly underutilized, being the northernmost lift at the edge of a massive, sprawling resort. The best way to encourage more people to use this lift would be to shorten OBX to its midstation, thereby limiting the number of Canyons-based skiers who mindlessly make their way over to Red Pine Lodge to start the day. However, that will never happen.

Is this lift ever open? I didn’t see this lift being opened on the lift status page

It operates regularly once there is enough snow. It does close in high winds though

As somebody who’s skied PC myself the last 15+ years, Condor is among the most wind-exposed at all the resort mainly because the upper 2/3rds of the lift-line travels along a ridge. Similar lifts like RPG (Red Pine Gondola) Quicksilver and the bubble both go over frequent high-wind zones as well

It has and I have definitely ridden it the past two seasons. But maybe it’s because PC opened it in January the past 2 years in a row which interestingly is one of the last terrain pods to fully open.
