    Hey Peter,

Great photos, glad you made it out to Whitecourt! As a side note, this T-Bar was not the first lift on this spot. A homemade platter ran up to the east of where the current T-Bar lies from the mid 1970s to the 1990s. Until a little while ago, the bottom terminal was still clearly visable.

Here’s one of the photos from their old Facebook page.

That bottom terminal is still visible. Do you know where the new T came from?

Good question. Everything online I’ve read indicates that it came via Whistler Blackcomb, though I have my doubts about that. I’ve just emailed their GM asking her this question, will let you know if she responds.

I’m pretty sure this lift came from T-bar 1 at Whistler.

@Arnold – just to clear up the matter, I directly emailed Eastlink Park, asking them on the origins of this T-Bar.

This lift is the old T-Bar from Kinosoo Ridge in Alberta. After it was removed from Kinosoo in 2012, it moved to Whistler Olympic Park, where the plan was for the T-Bar to service a luge track. However, because the lift didn’t fit the terrain, it was never installed.
