Is T-Bar 1 operating, or not?

So i think i may of found out. In many old whistler photos T-bar 1 seems to be running and not T-bar 2. This could hint that their may be lot more wear and tear on T1. So because T2 was under used, its more reliable now.

By far the coolest lift at whistler just because of its age. The Lattice portal towers are cool and this lift definitely lives up to vails slogan as “Epic”

I will never forget riding this with my snowboarding friend, and how it gets kind of steep at the end. Him holding on for dear life using sheer upper body strength and me attempting to straddle it, but the T was halfway down my calves because my snowboarding friend was holding on.

It was his first time ever riding a T-Bar haha

T-Bar 1 doesn’t run because the haul rope is dead. We have just removed this old lift as it would never be run again. The stations are gone but the towers are staying up because they support the comm line for T-bar 2 which is getting all new electrical. (controls, drive , motor)

Did T-Bar 1 end up at Eastlink Park, Alberta? They seem to have gotten a Mueller T-Bar after T-Bar 1 was removed, and the stations look the same as these ones. Liftblogs new lifts table shows Eastlink’s T-Bar as coming “From Whistler, BC” and this is the only lift that would fit the bill.

Curiously, the Eastlink Park lift has a set of lattice hoop towers although I understand T-Bar 1’s towers are still standing? I wonder where those came from.

If it is T-Bar 1… not bad for a 1965 lift, still finding use in 2021.

It either came from T-Bar 1 at Whistler, or the removed Mueller T-Bar (2012) at Kinosoo Ridge, AB that was replaced with a Doppelmayr quad.
