Clearly I am missing something: who would be doing downloading with enough volume that Snowbowl would need to make this chair more downloady? I have never skied here, regardless of desire, so all I gots is that good Goooooogle Earth presumptiveness. TV Mountain appears eminently skiable.

I don’t ski here either, but this lift is very steep and there is some beginner and intermediate terrain on TV Mountain. Perhaps the ski area also wants to do some summer activity in the future.

Likely because the terrain on the front side of the TV is pretty damn steep, with the lift line itself featuring some very large cliffs that are likely to intimidate some of the beginner skiers headed for the intermediate terrain on the backside of TV. With that being said, the Bowl has always been an experts only mountain, so I can’t imagine the downloading will be done in any large quantities.

The whole point of the downloading system on transporter is to allow novice skiers coming from snow park to get to the base without taking the long car track second thought. That being said Anytime I ride up this lift I don’t see a consistent flow of people coming down it but I case Snowbowl gets more beginner crowds this option is already in place. The terrain off of Transporter is extremely steep, it’s the only place on the map that has double blacks, so definitely not anything a beginner would or could ski.

I skied the Snowbowl two days ago.

I saw this lift as a main access to the rest of the resort. I saw not one person riding it back down. The vast majority of skiers were skiing the back intermediate (well snow covered) north facing slopes. This resort could have been better served by a gondola going up this line, like the Canyons base of Park City resort which was put in to bypass less desirable lift-serviced terrain.

The rock-covered south-facing front, nearly all of which is very very steep, and the cat tracks being skied down under the lift as I went overhead, looked dangerous! Not the best spot for a base for a ski resort and in mid Feb this year, rocks everywhere on the front side! I was shocked that some of the runs were open. I fear for the longevity of this resort with its old lifts and recent lift accidents. What would the state lift regulators in Colorado do to this resort? Sadly, Snowbowl resort may be in financial trouble.

Skiing here is like going back to the 70s or 80’s, worth it but also a reminder to toughen up under the conditions here! Welcome to Montana where there is less population to pay for infrastructure, but lots and lots of freedom!

I am very spoiled to ski the Utah Wasatch resorts regularly ski like I do!!

Overall, I loved snowbowl, even in the single digit temperatures I experienced on the mountain!

It has a very very friendly helpful staff!!
