Wow, I can tell they put a lot of thought into naming this lift. I would love to see Palisades get relocated here, and this lift to Palisades, but it’s probably never going to happen.

One of the lifties got some good footage of them doing pre-operation snow clearing at the bottom terminal

Red Lodge has a very strange philosophy when it comes to their lift network… why they got high speed quads for two of its least used lifts (one of which can go years at a time without spinning for the public due to lack of snow) while leaving the primary lift that gets everyone out of the base area as an ancient, slow fixed grip is beyond me… and now they’re replacing the Miami Beach beginner chair with a high speed, while again, ignoring the lift that most desperately needs the speed & capacity upgrade…

Hi Maverick, the two original HSQs were owned by the former entity. However, I agree that Red Lodge should have swapped this lift with the Palisades Express as it would be better suited as an out of base area lift. Red Lodge is owned by the same entity that owns Homewood and I don’t think they are the best ski resort operators out there. The majority of its real-estate is in hotels and the like.

I know Peter mentioned this in some other thread, but Red Lodge should really look into buying the old Six Shooter lift from Big Sky to replace the triple. Then they would have four similar aged Garaventa-CTEC detatchables and finally have high speed service on their main lift. In his Storm Podcast interview, Troy Nedved (Big Sky GM) indicated that they would most likely sell the sixer to another resort rather than relocate it at Big Sky or within Boyne.
