Warhorse – Whiteface, NY

This lift replaced two Hall-VonRoll doubles in 2021.
Warhorse is the second Skytrac quad chair built at Whiteface.
Like the prior lift, it crosses under the gondola.

    The top drive is an interesting choice here … I wonder if they tried to kill two birds with one stone by laying any needed electrical for a new Freeway chair.

      Not really.. You’ve got that lodge up there, so power was not so big of a deal.

        They did actually perform some electrical upgrades for Freeway, but I’m not sure it was in any way related to this lift. Prior to this lift being built, the gondola was the only top drive lift at Whiteface.

    This is not the only top drive at Whiteface. Cloudsplitter Gondola has a top drive too.

    The lift is named after Lake Placid native Andrew Weibrecht who’s nickname on the US Ski Team was “warhorse.”
