The old East Peak lift was relocated for a new base area lift called Wonderama.Enterprise bottom station.Motor room and loading area.Lift overview with new RFID gates.Orion top terminal.Unloading area.View down the lift line.Lower part of the lift line. The first few towers.
Greek wants to replace that lift. Originally they were going to buy the Willamette Pass 6 pack, put that where the Doppelmayr quad is now and move that over to become Lift 2, but I think they’ve given up on that plan.
Have an extra $350K laying around? This lift is up for grabs! I wonder who’s gonna buy it and what it will replace or be used for. It’ll be cool to see, but we just have to play the waiting game for now.
This lift has appeared in the Ski Butternut parking lot! My guess is they are either using it to replace Overbrook (a 1975 Thiokol Triple) or maybe an expansion.
It could be for one of the other ski hills they own, Blandford or Otis Ridge. Blandford is more likely of the two. If it’s for Butternut, it’s for Overbrook. Overbrook is a classic and it survived a tornado (!), but it’s the oldest of their main lifts and hasn’t been upgraded like all the others.
I doubt they would replace Overbrook with another CTEC triple. Yes, it’s not in the best shape, but it runs pretty well. It could be used for a new beginner area or an expansion. I doubt they would’ve shipped it to Butternut if they were going to send it again to another ski area. It’s not easy to move those heavy pieces around.
Agree with Teddy that it’s likely for Butternut given logistics, but for what? I’d imagine replacement of Overbrook or maybe an expansion to the west would be likeliest candidates, but I think we would have hear noise if it were the latter, no?
The old high speed quad is moving to replace this lift this summer.

And where will this lift go once the old whirlwind high speed quad is relocated here? I doubt that the current lift will be scrapped.

Greek Peak bought the last triple they removed. Maybe they’ll buy this to replace Lift 2, the Carlevaro and Savio double.

I’d hate to see this replace lift 2. That is an awesome lift.

It’s being removed carefully, so I assume it’s headed to another ski area and not the scrapyard.

I’d put my money on Greek Peak (Lift 2) or Kissing Bridge (Coal Chute). Kissing Bridge even has CTEC lifts already.

I hope Kissing Bridge gets it to replace coal chute.

They could possibly use it to replace the beginner double, and put the excess chairs on Overbrook.
