Is Showcase at WB not Doppelmayr anymore? I thought pretty much any WB project was guaranteed Doppelmayr due to Nippon cable’s part ownership of WB and their connection with Doppelmayr?

The contract hasn’t been publicly revealed yet, so “unknown” for now. I’d bet Doppelmayr also, but there are some other types scattered around. Franz (ex-Peak), Crystal (ex-Harmony) and WVG are all Pomas. Olympic and Magic are Yan holdovers.

Will Sun Valley’s new Lookout Express be D-Line?

No, it appears as it and Christmas will have UNI-G terminals with direct drive.

That’s a little odd, since Challenger made sense for a D-Line due to how long and high of vertical it was. Seattle Ridge is half the length as Challenger, plus it serves its own terrain area so a UNI-G with Direct-Drive was a little more appropriate. Lookout, is 1,000 ft shorter both in terms of length and vertical, but is the only quick way to get to the summit without going all the way to the base and riding the Gondola/Christmas combo. I feel that Lookout should be D-Line because like with Challenger it services its own terrain pod while acting as a funnel to the other areas since I believe D-Lines aren’t made to just feel fancy but reliable (once the 1st-season kinks get resolved)

It could be tariff related, since more of the D-Line systems come from Europe. They may be opting for something which is cheaper and can be made in the US.
