This short CTEC double replaced a Goforth Brothers one in 2001.Mini Sprint terminal. The bottom terminal shares a leg with neighboring lift 4.Towers are also shared.Top bullwheel.View down at the top tower.Unloading area.
My guess is that because the tower height is so low a combined tower isn’t actually cheaper and/or providing more space for the skiers isn’t a concern in an area skiers can’t ski due to height the chairs are from the ground prior to the unload. Just guesses
As much as I think double doubles are super cool lifts, if this was built in 2001, why didn’t they just go with a fixed grip quad?

Ecause they probably only needed 2400 ppl on weekends and holidays. On week days they could get by with only running one of the lifts.

Is this the newest double double?

This is one of the newest, but not the newest. The double double from Ski Big Bear PA is 8 years newer, but was probably built on older Borvig towers.

Why on some double-doubles are the top towers separate while all the other towers are shared?
